После закрытия эпифизов трубчатых костей рост костей прекращается. а закрываются они под влиянием эстрогенов, вырабатываемых из мужского гормона тестостерона. сам тестостерон не влияет на вышеописанные процессы, только женский гормон эстроген. этим собственно и объясняется превышение среднего роста мужчин над женским...
