1. Люди не осознают, что потребление ими мяса означает мучения и смерть для животных. Парадоксально, однако можно не связывать котлету на тарелке с живой коровой или свиньей, и при этом любить свою собаку и боготворить кота. Можно поедать колбасу и выступать против охоты на китов. Людям свойственно не задумываться над вещами, которые делают все вокруг и которые продолжаются долгое время.

2. Начиная понимать, что убийство животных является жестоким, люди пытаются это оправдать. Вроде как держать в плохих условиях и убивать плохо, но есть что-то надо, все, что делается ради еды, допустимо. Такие люди уверены, что мясо им нужно, и не верят, что без него можно вполне обойтись.

3. Людям нравится представлять, что если убить животное, которое до того жило в хороших условиях, то вроде ничего плохого здесь нет. Смерть быстрая и мимолетная, главное - жизнь до нее. В эту категорию попадают покупатели мяса подороже, которое было выращено на органических фермах и т.п. Эта логика разбивается в прах, если применить ее к примеру, к собакам (о людях даже говорить не стану), но опять, людям кажется, что без мяса им не прожить.

4. Есть категория тех, кто пытается себя обмануть, думая, что животные не чувствуют боли, что они почти не отличаются от растений, что у них нету сознания и они вообще ничего не понимают. Тут даже комментировать не буду, потому что такая точка зрения является совершенно оторванной от реальности.

Может, существуют и другие причины, но я пока остановлюсь на этих четырех....

По моему мнению люди убивают зверей из-за мяса или шкуры... Но если зверей будут убивать просто так, то никого не останется защитников от вредителей (таких как птицы). Нам нужно помогать природе, а не вредить ей. Ну а если убивают домашних животных, то это или живодеры или просто у животного проблему со здоровьем, и это делают чтобы облегчить им боль.
