Ще в дитинстві почула я таку легенду, — почала свою розповідь бабуся.—Жила в нашому селі красива дівчина-наймичка. Закохалася вона в панича. Він теж її палко покохав. Коли дізналися про це старі пани, наказали знищити дівчину. Схопили її панські прислужники, повели до лісового озера. Вона, бідолашна, плакала: де падали її сльози, виростали конвалії. Та не допомогли сльози — втопили нещасну в озері. I на тому місті з'явились прекрасні білі лілеї. Панич, коли дізнався про це, прокляв своїх батьків, пішов до озера і довго-довго дивився на чудові квіти. Так і сидів там, доки не перетворився на зелений дуб, котрий і зараз росте біля озера...
