Г.Пермь является портом на реке Каме. Это одна из крупных рек России длиной 1805 км, левый и самый крупный приток р. Волги. Исток Камы находится на Верхнекамской возвышенности, а её устье - Куйбышевское водохранилище. В Каму впадают 74 718 притоков, в основном мелких, длиной до 10 км. Самые крупные - Вишера с Колвой, Чусовая с Сылвой, Белая с Уфой, Коса, Обва, Вятка.
На реке создано 3 водохранилища и ГЭС: Камское, Воткинское и Нижнекамское.
Река судоходна и принимает спортсменов по парусному спорту. В ней обитают замечательные пресноводные рыбы (стерлядь, осетр, лещ, сазан, карась и др.)
