Потому что, он был честным,добрым, смекалистым, хорошим охотником,  не обделял никого в мясе, у каждого была равная часть, что у стариков и у вдов, а главное то что он смог из самой бедной иглу переселится в самую богатую. (Мы так на уроке объясняли ;)
