События в этом рассказе, обращены к будущему.  Вот об этом и пишет автор в своей книге. Наше будущее туманно и непредсказуемо. Мне сюжет этого рассказа в какой то степени напомнил так называемые, "комендантские часы", в которые категорически нельзя выходить на улицы города, тем более, на прогулки. Вот и здесь, примерно, такая же ситуация.Главный персонаж, любитель побродить по городу, попадает в очень неприятную, для него, ситуацию... Разве дома нет кондиционера, чтобы дышать свежим воздухом, или нет телевизора, чтобы посмотреть на людей... Зачем же тогда выходить на улицу?!Вот такое будущее нам пророчит Рэй Брэдбери. А ведь оно, это будущее, уже совсем близко. У нас уже мало живого общения, в руках смартфоны, в ушах наушники...Сюжет хотя и фантастический, но уже начинает напоминать и нашу реальность.

Я не могу сказать, что уж мне очень понравился этот рассказ. По-видимому, я ожидала чего то более таинственного и загадочного, а может быть, даже и мистического. А здесь просто мир бездушия, отрешённости от реальной жизни, безысходности, пустоты...

В этом произведении не хватает интриги и динамичности. Сюжет меня немного разочаровал, хотя актуальный смысл в нём есть.
