Сергий Радонежский родился в начале XIV века и умер в конце этого же века. Он был русским священнослужителем., основателем Троицкого монастыря подМосквой, преобразователем монашества в Северной Руси.Сергий Радонежский при рождении былнаделен именем Варфоломей. Благодаря этому накануне Куликовского сражения князья вместе выступили против татар. Также Сергий Радонежский благословил князя Дмитрия на битву с татарами и отдал к нему в войско монахов Пересвета и Ослабю.После смерти Сергий Радонежский причислен к лику святых как преподобный. За свою долгую жизнь онсделал для России немало : сумел объединить русских князей против татар, поднять их боевой дух и помог осознать им свое единство.
