Who united the two centers of Rus?
The two centers of Rus, Kiev and Novgorod, were united by Prince Oleg of Novgorod. He is credited with establishing the first unified state of Rus, known as the Kievan Rus, in the 9th century. Oleg successfully conquered Kiev and made it the capital of the newly formed state, thus uniting the two centers.
Oleg's reign marked a significant turning point in the history of Rus. He expanded the territory of the Kievan Rus through military campaigns and established trade routes with other regions. Oleg's rule laid the foundation for the subsequent rise and development of the Kievan Rus as a powerful and influential state.
It is worth noting that while Oleg played a crucial role in unifying Kiev and Novgorod, he was not the sole ruler of the Kievan Rus. After his death, his successor, Prince Igor, continued to consolidate and expand the state's power
