Five Countries Without Access to Water
There are several countries around the world that do not have direct access to a coastline or any major bodies of water. Here are five examples:
1. Bolivia: Bolivia is a landlocked country located in South America. It is surrounded by Brazil to the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina to the south, and Chile and Peru to the west. Despite being landlocked, Bolivia has a rich history and diverse geography, including the Andes Mountains and the Amazon rainforest.
2. Mongolia: Mongolia is a landlocked country located in East Asia, bordered by Russia to the north and China to the south, east, and west. It is known for its vast steppes, deserts, and nomadic culture. Despite not having direct access to the sea, Mongolia has several lakes and rivers, including Lake Khövsgöl and the Orkhon River.
3. Nepal: Nepal is a landlocked country located in South Asia, bordered by China to the north and India to the south, east, and west. It is known for its stunning mountain landscapes, including Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Nepal is home to several rivers, including the Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali, but it does not have direct access to the sea.
4. Switzerland: Switzerland is a landlocked country located in Central Europe, bordered by Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. Despite not having a coastline, Switzerland is known for its beautiful lakes, such as Lake Geneva, Lake Zurich, and Lake Lucerne. It also has numerous rivers, including the Rhine and the Rhône.
5. Lesotho: Lesotho is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa, completely surrounded by South Africa. It is known as the "Kingdom in the Sky" due to its high elevation and mountainous terrain. Lesotho has several rivers, including the Orange River, but it does not have direct access to the sea.
Please note that while these countries do not have direct access to the sea, they may still have access to water through rivers, lakes, or other sources.
