Dolphins are known for their sleek and streamlined appearance, which allows them to move gracefully through the water. They have a fusiform body shape, which means they have a tapered head and torso that gradually narrows towards their tail. This body structure is ideal for reducing drag and increasing their swimming efficiency.

The skin of a dolphin is smooth and rubbery, with a layer of blubber underneath to provide insulation and buoyancy. Their skin is usually gray in color, although it can vary depending on the species. Some dolphins have a lighter belly and darker back, which helps to camouflage them from predators and prey when seen from above or below.

Dolphins have a prominent dorsal fin on their back, which varies in size and shape depending on the species. This fin is used for stability and balance while swimming. Some dolphins also have pectoral fins on the sides of their body, which they use for steering and maneuvering.

One of the most distinctive features of dolphins is their rostrum, also known as their beak. The rostrum is elongated and pointed, allowing them to catch fish and other prey more easily. Dolphins also have a set of sharp, conical teeth that they use to grasp and tear their food.

Their eyes are located on the sides of their head, providing them with a wide field of vision. This allows them to spot prey and predators from different angles. Dolphins also have a blowhole on the top of their head, which they use to breathe. When they come to the surface, they exhale forcefully through their blowhole, creating a distinctive spout of air and water.

In conclusion, dolphins have a sleek and streamlined appearance, with a fusiform body shape, smooth skin, and various fins for swimming and maneuvering. Their beak and teeth are adapted for catching prey, and their eyes and blowhole aid in their survival in the aquatic environment.
