We live in a competitive world where success is important, so people become more materialistic. I think the way you look is really important especially for teenagers who want to be a part of a group. So it's natural that people think of money and possessions. On the other hand, materialistic people think that money is everything in the world and being rich is the only way of being successful. It's important for them to have designer labels and fashionable things. Some people can even kill others to have more money or possessions. In this case we can say that money is the root of the evil. However, there are very important things in our life that can't be bought, such as love and friendship. Of course, you know that there are a lot of people who have little money. Lack of money can cause real problems, such as bad health, stress or even crime. But many people are poor. They never waste money and they spend it on the essentials. More than that, they learn to find unusual in usual things, and this makes their life interesting. I don't think that money is the only way of being successful in life. But it cannot be denied that money is an essential part of our life. There are a lot of rich people, but not all of them are materialistic, for example, Bill Gates. You wouldn't look twice at him if he passed you in the street because he looks like an ordinary person. He likes fast food and casual clothes. He is always on the company campus. But Bill Gates is not snobbish or ambitious. More than that, he is a noted philanthropist who donated a lot of money to non-profit educational organizations. Yet he is one of the most successful men in the world. To get success in life you should be creative, intelligent, hard working. You'll never get success if you wait for someone to bring it to you. You have to get up and get it yourself. The only thing I want to say is that you needn't be rich to be happy. A clever person can always find beauty in ordinary things. And I think that only such things can make you happy.

По-моему, материализм - это неплохое качество нашего общества. Я пытаюсь быть не слишком материалистическим, но, думаю, всем немного присуще это качество. Некоторые люди даже способны на убийство других людей, чтобы получить больше денег или власти. В таком случае, мы можем сказать, что деньги - корень зла. Но в нашей жизни есть очень важные вещи, которые нельзя купить за деньги, такие, как любовь и дружба. 
Конечно, вам известно, что есть много людей, у которых мало денег. Недостаток денег может привести к реальным проблемам, например, плохому здоровью, стрессу или даже к преступлению. Но многие люди бедны. Они никогда не тратят деньги попусту, они тратят их для удовлетворения своих потребностей. Кроме того, они учатся искать что-то необычное в обычных вещах, и это делает их жизнь интереснее. Я не думаю, что деньги - единственный путь быть успешным в жизни.

In my opinion, materialism is not necessarily a negative aspect of our society. While I personally try not to be too materialistic, I believe that everyone to some extent is influenced by material possessions. We live in a competitive world where success is highly valued, which often leads people to become more materialistic. Additionally, the way we present ourselves, especially for teenagers who strive to fit in with a group, plays a significant role in our society. It is therefore natural for people to place importance on money and possessions.

However, there are individuals who take materialism to an extreme, believing that money is everything and that being rich is the only path to success. For them, having designer labels and fashionable items becomes essential. Some individuals may even go to extreme lengths, such as resorting to crime, in order to acquire more money or possessions. In such cases, it can be argued that money is indeed the root of evil.

Nevertheless, there are invaluable aspects of life that cannot be bought, such as love and friendship. It is important to recognize that these intangible qualities hold great significance and should not be overshadowed by materialistic pursuits.

It is worth acknowledging that there are many individuals who have limited financial resources. Lack of money can give rise to genuine problems, including poor health, stress, and even involvement in criminal activities. However, many people who are financially disadvantaged possess a unique ability to find beauty in ordinary things, and they prioritize spending their limited resources on essentials. Their ability to find joy in the simple things in life makes their existence interesting and fulfilling. Therefore, it can be argued that money is not the sole determinant of success in life.

Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that money plays an essential role in our lives. There are numerous wealthy individuals who are not consumed by materialism, such as Bill Gates. If you were to pass him on the street, you might not even notice him, as he appears like an ordinary person. He prefers fast food and casual attire, and he is often found on the company campus. Bill Gates is not snobbish or overly ambitious. Moreover, he is renowned for his philanthropy, having donated a substantial amount of money to non-profit educational organizations. Despite his wealth, he remains one of the most successful individuals in the world.

To achieve success in life, it is crucial to be creative, intelligent, and hardworking. Waiting for success to come to you will yield no results; you must actively pursue it. The only thing I would like to emphasize is that one does not need to be wealthy to find happiness. A wise person can always find beauty in ordinary things, and it is through appreciating such things that true happiness can be attained.
