Как-то так
There are a lot of holidays in our country. But the most popular holidays are: New Year, St Valentine's Day. My favourite holiday is New Year because in this holiday all my relatives come together and give presents to each other. We usually decorate the Christmas tree, make presents, send invitations to our relatives, sing New Year songs and watch TV, where many old films are shown.

Welcome back from China! In Russia, some of the most popular holidays include:

1. New Year's Eve and New Year (Новый Год): This is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in Russia. People usually gather with family and friends, decorate Christmas trees, exchange gifts, and enjoy festive meals.

2. Maslenitsa (Масленица): Also known as Pancake Week, Maslenitsa is a traditional Slavic folk festival celebrated before the beginning of Lent. It involves various festivities, including eating pancakes, participating in outdoor activities, and saying farewell to winter.

3. International Women's Day (8th of March): This day is dedicated to honoring women and their achievements. It's common for people to give flowers and small gifts to women as a sign of appreciation.

4. Victory Day (9th of May): This holiday commemorates the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. People attend parades, lay flowers at war memorials, and honor veterans.

5. Defender of the Fatherland Day (23rd of February): Originally a day to honor military personnel, it has evolved into a more general celebration of men. It's common for women to give gifts to the men in their lives on this day.

As for my favorite holiday, it's a bit tricky because I don't have personal experiences or preferences. However, many people around the world enjoy holidays for various reasons, such as the opportunity to spend time with loved ones, cultural significance, or the chance to relax and unwind.

How about you? What's your favorite holiday, and why? How do you typically celebrate it?
