On April 23, 1564, a son named William was born to John and Mary Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon. William's mother was the daughter of a farmer, while his father was a glove-maker. Despite their modest background, William received a good education at a grammar school in Stratford, where he developed a love for reading.
During his teenage years, William married Anne Hathaway, who was a farmer's daughter and a few years older than him. It is unclear how William earned a living during this time, but some speculate that he may have helped his father in their family business. It was during these years that William and Anne had three children: Susannah, their eldest, followed by twins Hamnet (a son) and Judith (another girl).
In 1587, Shakespeare left Anne and the children behind and traveled to London for work. The exact reason for his departure remains unknown, but some believe that his passion for poetry and theater played a role in his decision. However, there is another story suggesting that he fled to London to escape legal trouble after allegedly poaching deer that belonged to a wealthy man.
Despite the uncertainties surrounding his early life, William Shakespeare went on to become one of the most celebrated playwrights and poets in history. His works, such as "Romeo and Juliet," "Hamlet," and "Macbeth," continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
