More to the point – where is it now? I’m the traveller in my family, and I like to think I got it from a great-grandfather on my dad’s side. He was an adventurous soul. My two favourite family heirlooms are a photo of him on a horse in a desert landscape (1897 in Patagonia) and a postcard home from Portugal complaining that his boat was late because of the revolution in Lisbon. ‘Dreadful business, they seem to have arrested the King,’ he says. Семьи самые загадочные вещи в мире.Если ты достаточно глубоко покопаешься в своей семье, ты наверняка узнаешь вещи, на основании которых можно написать большой роман. Моя  мама взялась за исследование фамильного дерева несколько лет назад, не ожидая зайти так далеко. Однако, копаясь в старых записях и библиотеках, она зашла на 300 лет назад.  Она подняла былые истории и некоторые загадки. Что произошло с большой фамильной фермой? Куда подевалось большое семейное наследство в 1870 гг. ? Вернее сказать- где оно сейчас?  Я - странник в нашей семье и я охотно считаю что мне это досталось от моего отцовского прадеда . Он был странствующей душой. Моих два любимые семейных наследия - это его фотография на коне в пустыне /1897 г.
