А Джек и говорит: "Освобожу я тебя, но с одним условием - мою душу ты оставишь в покое, а когда я умру, быть мне не в аду, а в раю".И вот Джек состарился и умер, а в рай его не пускают. Джек пошел к Дьяволу, а тот сказал, что условие сделки нарушить не может и в ад его не заберет. А на улице темно, ничего не видно, и куда теперь идти Джеку, он не знает. Выпросил он у Сатаны горящий уголек, вырезал из тыквы фонарь, положил в нее уголек и с тех пор ходит по свету, угольком светит...
