Present simple - действие которое происходит вообще.  Повседневные действия например: Я кушаю - то что ты делаешь обычно. 
present continious - переводится как настоящее продолженное, что значит действие происходит в данный момент, в момент речи! также выражает намерение в будущем типа: Я собираюсь пойти в библиотеку. Я намереваюсь выучить стихотворение.
