Марія Приймаченко (Maria Pryimachenko) була українською художницею-самоуком, відомою своїми наївними картинами. Її ім'я може бути перекладене на англійську мову як "Maria Pryimachenko."
Maria Pryimachenko was a self-taught Ukrainian artist known for her naïve paintings. Her name can be translated into English as "Maria Pryimachenko."

Maria Pryimachenko was a Ukrainian folk art painter who worked in the naïve art style. She was born in 1909 in a village near Kyiv and learned embroidery from her mother. She contracted polio at a young age, which left her with a physical disability, but also a great empathy for the suffering of others. She started drawing and painting with natural pigments on the walls of her house, and later on paper and canvas. She created colorful and imaginative images of animals, plants, and mythical creatures, inspired by Ukrainian folklore and nature. She was discovered by a professional artist in 1935 and invited to work at the Central Experimental Workshop of the Kyiv Museum of Ukrainian Art. She exhibited her works in several countries and received a gold medal at the 1937 Paris World Fair. Pablo Picasso praised her art and said: "I bow down before the artistic miracle of this brilliant Ukrainian."
She married a fellow artist, Vasyl Marynchuk, and had a son, Fedir, who also became a folk artist. Her husband and brother were killed in World War II, and she returned to her village and worked on a collective farm. She continued to paint until her death in 1997. Her art is considered a symbol of Ukrainian national identity and a message of peace and resistance. In 2009, UNESCO declared the year of Pryimachenko to commemorate her centenary. A street in Kyiv and a minor planet are named after her.
Her artworks are displayed in various museums and galleries, such as the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art in Kyiv, the Museum of Naïve Art in Moscow, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Some of her paintings were destroyed by Russian forces in 2022, when they burned down the Ivankiv Historical and Local History Museum, where they were housed. However, some of them may have been saved by a local resident.
I hope this information helps you learn more about Maria Pryimachenko and her amazing art.
