если его нет и речь идет о предмете то ставим was

глаголы бывают правильные и неправильные

для того чтобы образовать прошедшее время правильных глаголов просто в конец добавляем ed  visit(посещать)-visited( посетил)

в для неправильных нужно выучить таблицу неправильных глаголов и решать много заданий на эту тему. практика практика и еще раз практика. сам не заметишь как запомнил все неправильные глаголы
