Now, the blue whale is the largest animal that has ever existed on the planet but, although its name suggests otherwise, it is actually greyish in colour rather than blue. Some breeds of cats are claimed to be blue but in actual fact they are grey too. Then, of course, there's the common blue damselfly, which you've probably all seen near rivers and lakes all across the UK.
