  1. Look! He (is leaving) the house. (Present Continuous - "is leaving" because we are describing an action in progress at the moment of speaking.)
  2. Quiet please! I (am writing) a test. (Present Continuous - "am writing" because it's happening right now.)
  3. Mary (doesn't like) to read books, but today she (is reading) a novel. (Present Simple - "doesn't like" because it's a general statement of her preferences, and Present Continuous - "is reading" because it's happening now.)
  4. She always (walks) to school. But look! Today she (is going) by bike. (Present Simple - "walks" because it's her usual routine, and Present Continuous - "is going" because it's happening today, not part of her regular routine.)
  5. Look at my dress. I (am going) to the party. (Present Continuous - "am going" because it's a planned future action.)
  6. Every Sunday we (go) to see my grandparents. (Present Simple - "go" because it's a regular, repeated action.)
  7. He often (goes) to the cinema. (Present Simple - "goes" because it's a habitual action.)
  8. We (are playing) Monopoly at the moment. (Present Continuous - "are playing" because it's happening right now.)
  9. The child sometimes (cries). (Present Simple - "cries" because it's a habitual action.)
  10. I (am not doing) anything at the moment. (Present Continuous - "am not doing" because it's the current state of inactivity.)
  11. (Does he watch) the news often? (Present Simple - "Does he watch" because it's a question about a habitual action.)
  12. You always (talk) during the lessons! (Present Simple - "talk" because it's a general statement of a habit.)
  13. My mother (cooks) very well. (Present Simple - "cooks" because it's a general statement of her cooking ability.)
  14. My granny (doesn't work). (Present Simple - "doesn't work" because it's a statement about her employment status.)
  15. The train (arrives) at 5 pm. (Present Simple - "arrives" because it's a scheduled event.)
  16. My father (is not at home) now. He (is working) at his office. (Present Continuous - "is not at home" because it's his current location, and "is working" because it's his current activity.)
  17. What (are you doing) now? I (am reading) the poem. (Present Continuous - "are you doing" because it's about the current action, and "am reading" because it's what I'm currently engaged in.)
  18. Tom usually (gets up) at seven o'clock. (Present Simple - "gets up" because it's his usual wake-up time.)
