People cannot live without music. You may hear music from records and tapes, or on the radio. You hear music during television shows and movies. Music can be classical and modern, happy and sad. Classical music is performed by symphonic orchestras in the great halls. Most people prefer modern music. Modern music is performed by TV and radio. Modern music has different kinds: pop, rock, disco, rap, techno and others. Young people like techno and disco. Older people are fond of jazz, rock and pop. There are a lot of singers or music bands who perform this or that kind of music.

My friend like to listen music very much. His name is [Alex]. He is fond of rock music. He like many bands, but his favourite band is Arctic Monkeys. The group are: Alex Turner, who is the leadsinger and plays the guitar, Jamie Cook and Nick O’Malley, who both play the guitar, and Matthew Helder, who is the drummer and also sings. They first became well known in 2004. «Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys» is one of their singles. One of their albums is «Whatever People Say I am, That’s What I’m Not». «Do I Wanna Know» is [Alex]'s favourite song by this band.
