Children are first introduced to board games at the early age, when they start playing tutorials to learn numbers and letters. When they get a bit older, they start playing checkers, monopoly and other funny games. Apart from being entertaining, these games give children learning opportunities and useful strategy skills, such as logical thinking, pragmatism, agility, quick mindedness. Unfortunately, in modern era of technological progress, children play less and less board games and more of computer games with zombies, monsters, and other violent creatures. Many people are convinced that board games are better than video or computer games in many ways. First of all, board games require several players and children get to communicate with each other. Secondly, board games have funny and kind implications, while computer games practice lots of violence. Thirdly, computer games are almost always unrealistic. They use horrific fictional characters, which is a bad influence on child’s developing unsteady mind. Board games, on the contrary, accelerate children’s development in a positive way. In my opinion, games are designed for leisure and fun, not for tension or stress. That’s why board games are a better choice for people of all ages. Adults also like playing lotto, chess, backgammon, dominoes, monopoly, scrabble, etc. Collective board games help them to relax after hectic work schedule. Thus, such games have many benefits. Playing board games is an easy and excellent way to spend enjoyable time with friends.

"Twister: A Game of Tangled Fun"

Twister is a classic party game that has been entertaining people of all ages for decades. It was invented by Charles Foley and Neil Rabens in the mid-1960s and quickly became a sensation. Twister brings friends and families together, creating hilarious and sometimes awkward moments as players attempt to contort their bodies into impossible positions. This game is a perfect embodiment of the phrase "the more, the merrier."

The game consists of a large plastic mat with rows of colorful circles, each representing a body part – left hand, right hand, left foot, and right foot. A spinner indicates the combination of body part and a colored circle. The fun begins when the spinner is spun, and players have to follow its instructions. For example, if the spinner lands on "right foot, red," everyone must place their right foot on a red circle. As the game progresses, the mat becomes a chaotic tangle of limbs as players stretch, twist, and bend to maintain their balance.

Twister is more than just a game; it's an experience. It promotes laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition. The game is often accompanied by cheers, jeers, and words of encouragement from spectators. It's a great icebreaker, breaking down social barriers and encouraging players to let loose and have fun.

Moreover, Twister has proven to be an excellent way to improve physical flexibility and balance. Without even realizing it, players engage their muscles and enhance their coordination. It can be an effective alternative to traditional exercise, making it a hit among fitness enthusiasts.

Another board game that deserves attention is "Monopoly." Created by American game designer Charles Darrow in 1935, Monopoly has become a timeless classic that is enjoyed by millions worldwide. The game's objective is to accumulate wealth and property while bankrupting opponents. Each player starts with a small sum of money and proceeds to move around the board, buying properties, constructing houses and hotels, and charging rent to other players who land on their owned spaces.

Monopoly is not merely about luck; it requires strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and a keen eye for opportunities. Players must weigh the risks and benefits of purchasing properties, deciding when to invest and when to hold onto their cash. The game reflects real-life economics and finance in a simplified and entertaining manner.

Moreover, Monopoly teaches valuable life lessons about money management and decision-making. It emphasizes the importance of budgeting, investing wisely, and taking calculated risks. The game can be a fun way for parents to introduce financial concepts to their children and spark discussions about money matters.

Monopoly has also seen various editions based on different themes, adding a touch of personalization to the experience. Whether it's themed around cities, movies, or pop culture, players can immerse themselves in worlds beyond the original game.

In conclusion, both Twister and Monopoly are iconic board games that have earned their place in the hearts of players worldwide. Twister brings laughter, fun, and physical activity, while Monopoly offers strategic thinking, financial lessons, and friendly competition. These games are timeless and will continue to entertain generations to come, fostering precious moments and cherished memories. So, the next time you gather with friends or family, consider playing either of these games, and you are guaranteed a delightful and rewarding time.
