Помогите пересказать текст от лица женщины в конце A young woman was coming toward me, her figure

long and slim. Her blonde hair lay back in curls from her delicate ears; her eyes were blue as flowers. Her lips and chin had a gentle firmness, and in her pale green suit she was like springtime come alive. I started toward her, entirely forgetting to notice that she was not wearing a rose. As I moved, a small, provocative smile curved her lips. "Going my way, sailor?" she murmured.Almost uncontrollably I made one step closer to her, and then I saw Hollis Maynell. She was standing almost directly behind the girl. A woman well past 40, she had graying hair tucked under a worn hat.. She was more than plump, her thick-ankled feet thrust into low-heeled shoes. The girl in the green suit was walking quickly away. I felt as though I was split in two, so keen was my desire to follow her, and yet so deep was my longing for the woman whose spirit had truly companioned me and upheld my own. And there she stood. Her pale, plump face was gentle and sensible, her gray eyes had a warm and kindly twinkle. I did not hesitate. My fingers gripped the small worn blue leather copy of the book that was to identify me to her. This would not be love, but it would be something precious, something perhaps even better than love, a friendship for which I had been and must ever be grateful. I squared my shoulders and saluted and held out the book to the woman, even though while I spoke I felt choked by the bitterness of my disappointment. "I'm Lieutenant John Blanchard, and you must be Miss Maynell. I am so glad you could meet me; may I take you to dinner?"The woman's face broadened into a tolerant smile. "I don't know what this is about, son," she answered, "but the young lady in the green suit who just went by, she begged me to wear this rose on my coat. And she said if you were to ask me out to dinner, I should go and tell you that she is waiting for you in the big restaurant across the street. She said it was some kind of test!"

Объяснение:

She squared her shoulders, saluted and held the book out towards the woman, although even while she spoke she felt the bitterness of her disappointment.

“I’m Lt. Blanford and you… Miss Maynell. I’m so glad you could meet me. May…may I take you to dinner?”

The woman’s face broadened in a tolerant smile. “I don’t know what this is all about,” she answered. "That young woman in the green suit who just passed gave me a rose to wear and said that if you asked me to go out with you, I should tell you she is waiting in the restaurant across the street. She said it was some kind of a test.”

As I stood there, a young woman approached me, her slender figure catching my eye. With curls cascading from her delicate ears and captivating blue eyes, she resembled a blooming flower. Her lips and chin exuded a subtle strength, and her pale green suit embodied the essence of spring. I was drawn towards her, completely oblivious to the fact that she wasn't wearing a rose. As I moved closer, a mischievous smile played on her lips, and she whispered, "Going my way, sailor?"

In that moment, my instincts took over, and I took another step towards her. However, my attention was diverted when I noticed Hollis Maynell standing just behind the young lady. Hollis, a woman well into her forties, had graying hair tucked under a weathered hat. She was on the plump side, her thick ankles snugly nestled in low-heeled shoes. The girl in the green suit hastened her pace, walking away swiftly.

I felt torn in two, torn between my intense desire to pursue the girl and my profound longing for the woman who had truly been my companion, uplifting my spirit. And there she stood—Hollis Maynell. Her fair, plump face emanated warmth and wisdom, her gray eyes twinkling with kindness. I didn't hesitate. Clutching a small, worn, blue leather book that served as my identification, I made my move.

This wouldn't be love, but it would be something valuable, perhaps even more precious than love—a friendship for which I had been and would always be grateful. I straightened my posture, saluted, and extended the book towards the woman, although my disappointment weighed heavily on my words.

"I'm Lieutenant John Blanchard, and you must be Miss Maynell. I'm delighted to meet you. May I have the pleasure of taking you to dinner?"

The woman's face widened into a forgiving smile. "I'm not sure what this is all about, young man," she replied, "but the young lady in the green suit who just passed by asked me to wear this rose on my coat. She also said that if you were to invite me to dinner, I should inform you that she's waiting for you at the prominent restaurant across the street. It seems to be some sort of test!"
