You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen friend, Emma. ...I visited my cousin’s
family recently. I was very much surprised to find out that they do not watch TV at all. They don't even have a TV set in their flat! They say that if they want to find out about the news or watch a film, they go on the internet or to the cinema... How often do you watch TV? Do you prefer watching a film at home or in a cinema, why? What activity, apart from watching TV, can you suggest for a rainy day? Write her a letter and answer her questions. Write – words. Remember the rules of letter writing.

Dear Emma,
Thank you so much for your letter, I am very glad to hear from you. To be honest, I am also surprised that some people don’t have a TV set in their flats. It seems to me that it is important to have one for movie nights with many people. Based on my experience, it is often inconvenient to watch the films on the small laptop’s screen. That is why I also enjoy going to the cinema with my friends where the screen is available to everyone due to its big size. Clearly, the quality, sound and atmosphere in cinema is much better than a TV at home. In my opinion, going to the cinema is always a great idea to spend a good time and have fun! However, cinema is situated a bit far away from my home and the tickets for favorite films often cost higher. Thus, sometimes it would be better to stay at home, watch a great movie with family and enjoy a wonderful dinner. Despite the fact that both cinema and TV have many advantages, I prefer watching films on the internet. Nowadays, the creation of social media platforms such as Netflix and YouTube makes life easier. The internet gives many possibilities to find any films you want and watch them everywhere you wish for a low price, which is the most important factor for me. In conclusion, I would like to note that although movies are very fun, there are many other activities to do. For example, a rainy day would also be perfectly completed with an interesting book. Have a good time!
Sincerely,
Your friend

Dear Emma,
I hope this letter finds you well. It's always a pleasure to receive letters from you and hear about your recent experiences. It sounds like your visit to your cousin's family was quite surprising! It's interesting to hear that they don't watch TV at all and rely on the internet and cinema for their entertainment needs.
As for me, I don't watch TV very often either. Like your cousin's family, I've also noticed a shift towards using the internet for news and entertainment. With the convenience of streaming services and online content, it's become easier to access a wide range of shows and movies on-demand. However, I do occasionally watch TV shows or sports events when there's something specific I'm interested in.
When it comes to watching a film, I have to admit I enjoy both options, but it depends on the circumstances. Watching a film at home is great for its comfort and convenience. You can pause, rewind, and enjoy it in the comfort of your own space. On the other hand, going to the cinema offers a different experience altogether. The big screen, surround sound, and the collective atmosphere of the audience can make certain films more immersive and enjoyable. So, it really depends on my mood and the type of movie I want to watch.
For a rainy day activity, apart from watching TV or movies, I have a few suggestions:
Read a Book: Rainy days are perfect for curling up with a good book and getting lost in a captivating story.
Cook or Bake: Trying out a new recipe or baking some delicious treats can be a fun and productive way to spend a rainy day.
Board Games or Puzzles: Gather some friends or family members for a board game marathon or work on a challenging jigsaw puzzle together.
Indoor Exercise: You can do some indoor exercises or yoga to stay active and energized, even on a rainy day.
Art and Craft: Get creative with some art and craft projects. Whether it's painting, drawing, or crafting, it's a great way to unleash your creativity.
I hope these suggestions help you make the most of a rainy day. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you'd like to share more about your recent experiences. I'm looking forward to hearing from you again soon.
Take care and stay dry!
Warm regards,
[Your Name]
