Несмотря на то, что в мире Софи и Хаула все вокруг волшебное, непривычное и необычное, это не является детской утопией про добрых волшебников. Это, от части, фильм про реальную жизнь. Конечно совсем отдаленно. Там поднимаются глобальные проблемы: проблема добра и зла (хотя в фильме и нет чётко выраженного зла или добра, все в полутонах), проблема войны и мира, проблема внутренней красоты человека, проблема любви, самооценки. Сама картинка яркая и чёткая, привлекающая внимание. Определённые моменты (моменты войны) показаны более мрачными красками, но это соответствует атмосфере и не выбивается из общего состояния. Персонажи запоминающиеся, нет чёткого деления на антагонистов и протагонистов, что больше похоже на реальную жизнь, чем на сказку. Я очень люблю этот фильм, за его потрясающую атмосферу и погружение.
