                                   The House with chimeras

Definitely worth a visit to the House with chimeras, or as it is also called "Gorodetsky's House". The incredibly beautiful, fascinating landmark of Kiev is a unique cube-shaped structure made in the Art Nouveau style, decorated with stucco animals and unusual mythical creatures. The house, built by the famous architect Vladislav Gorodetsky in 1903, was originally intended for the residence of the Gorodetsky family and the rental of vacant living rooms of the building to visiting guests. But after the events of the October Revolution, it was appropriated by the state authorities.

Interesting and amazing legends hover around this mansion: the house is cursed, the architect's daughter drowned, and sea creatures are a symbol of the memory of this tragedy. There are rumours that the mansion was built on a bet, which, by the way, was won, and on Halloween chimeras come to life, and many other mysterious and unusual stories, but they are all just speculation of an excited society.

And yet, it is believed that if you find a crocodile stucco on the facade of the building— you can make the most cherished wishes that will surely come true.

                                  Однозначно варто відвідати будинок з химерами, або як його ще називають «Будинок Городецького». Неймовірно красива, захоплююча пам'ятка Києва являє собою унікальну споруду кубічної форми, виконане в стилі модерн, декороване ліпниною тварин і незвичайних міфічних істот. Будинок, побудований знаменитим архітектором Владиславом Городецьким в 1903 році, спочатку був призначений для проживання сімейства Городецьких і здачі вільних житлових кімнат будівлі в оренду приїжджим гостям. Але після подій Жовтневої революції був привласнений державною владою.

Цікаві і дивовижні легенди витають навколо цього особняка: будинок проклятий, дочка архітектора потонула, а морські тварюки є символом пам'яті цієї трагедії. Ходять чутки, що особняк був побудований на суперечку, який, до речі, був виграний, а в Хеллоуїн химери оживають, і безліч інших загадкових і незвичайних історій, але всі вони — лише домисли схвильованого суспільства.

А ще, вважається, що якщо знайти на фасаді будівлі ліпнину крокодила — можна загадати найзаповітніші бажання, які обов'язково збудуться.
