• In my opinion, it’s important to protect endangered species, because in the environment everything is connected. It means that the extinction of one species leads to the extinction of other animals. Besides, the extinction of species is a sign that there is something wrong with an ecosystem, and it can impact the quality of our own life.

2. Which species would you least like to see disappear?

• While I think that the extinction of any species is a tragedy, I think I would be most upset if I saw Pallas’s cat disappear. Pallas’s cats, also known as manuls, are ‘near threatened’ species. They are rare and little is known about them. I think manuls are really beautiful and that is why I think it would be tragic if they went extinct.

3. What can we do to help save endangered animals?

• In my opinion, the best thing we can do to save them is to protect the environment. It means we need to sort rubbish so that it can be recycled, avoid using harsh chemicals, reduce the amount of water and energy we use and start using reusable products. We can also support charity organizations that help endangered species and the environment.

4. What traits have made humans a successful species?

• I believe that humans became a successful species because of the ability to speak, acquire knowledge from each other and learn new things quickly. Humans also figured out how to use various tools to survive in different conditions. In addition, humans have a good eyesight and can run for long distances without getting tired, which was rather useful for hunting.

5. Do you think it's a good idea to clone a mammoth? Why / Why not?

• Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Cloning a mammoth might have all sorts of consequences people aren’t ready for. It might upset the balance of the environment and be dangerous for humans, as well as other species. So, while I think that it would be really cool to see what a mammoth looked like, I don’t think doing so is exactly safe.
