When the king and the queen had a daughter, they had a grand feast and invited everyone but an old fairy. The fairy was offended and predicted that the princess would die by pricking herself with a spindle. However, another fairy softened the prediction, saying that the princess would just fall asleep.
The king banned spinning wheels, but fifteen years passed, and the princess pricked herself with a spindle. She fell asleep, and the whole kingdom did it too.
Many years passed. A prince was hunting near the castle. He walked through the woods and saw an enchanted castle. The prince went up to the princess's room, knelt down and kissed the princess. The girl opened her eyes.
The whole castle and everyone in it woke up, and soon the wedding was arranged.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Aurora. At her christening, she was cursed by an evil fairy, who proclaimed that on her 16th birthday, she would prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep. However, a good fairy softened the curse, declaring that Aurora would awaken from her slumber by the kiss of true love.

To protect their daughter, Aurora's parents banned all spinning wheels from the kingdom. However, on her 16th birthday, curiosity got the better of Aurora, and she stumbled upon an old woman spinning in a hidden room of the castle. Intrigued, Aurora approached the spinning wheel and pricked her finger, causing her to instantly fall into a deep sleep, just as the curse had foretold.

The good fairy, who had been watching over Aurora, put everyone else in the castle to sleep and surrounded it with an impenetrable thicket of thorns. Over the years, the thorny forest grew thicker and higher, shielding the castle from the outside world.

Many years passed, and a handsome prince heard the tale of the sleeping beauty and the hidden castle. Determined to find her, he fought his way through the thorny thicket until he reached the castle. Enchanted by Aurora's beauty, he kissed her, breaking the curse.

Aurora awoke, and along with her prince, they celebrated their love. The entire kingdom rejoiced as they returned home, and Aurora's parents were overjoyed to see their daughter alive and happy.

And so, the sleeping beauty and her prince lived happily ever after, their love conquering the evil curse that had once befallen her.
