Экономика, как и любая другая интеллектуальная дисциплина, уходит своими корнями в раннюю Грецию и Рим; но Сначала экономика рассматривалась как отрасль отечественной науки (домашняя экономика), занимающаяся такими вопросами, как управление рабами и распределение навоза между альтернативными сельскохозяйственными видами использования.
