Большой круг кровообращения служит для доставки всем органам и тканям тела питательных веществ и кислорода и выноса от них различных продуктов обмена. Этот круг начинается в левом желудочке, от которого отходит самая крупная артерия организма - аорта. Аорта подразделяется на участки:
капилляры головы, легочные вены, дуга аорты, левое предсердие, левый желудочек,
брюшная аорта, капилляры большого круга кровообращения, кишечная артерия,
воротная вена печени, печеночная вена, правый желудочек, правое предсердие,
легочные артерии, легочные капилляры, венозное русло, артериальное русло, ткани,
капилляры, восходящая аорта, дуга аорты (поворачивается влево) , нисходящая аорта (грудной и брюшной участки) . От аорты отходят артерии, несущие артериальную кровь ко всем органам и тканям и разветвлящиеся до самых мелких артерий - артериол. От дуги аорты отходят последовательно три крупные артерии: плечеголовной ствол, левая общая сонная артерия, левая подключичная артерия. Плечеголовной ствол подразделяется на правую подключичную артерию и правую общую сонную артерию.
