Строение: относительно крупный организм, размеры от 0,1 до 0,5 мм.  Форма тела напоминает туфельку. Внешняя оболочка-наружная мембрана. Под ней находится пелликула. Всю поверхность клетки инфузории-туфельки покрывают реснички, число которых колеблется от 10 до 15 тысяч. В основании каждой реснички расположено базальное тельце. Между ресничками органеллы. 
Питание:бактерии.Инфузория находит свою добычу, чувствуя наличие химических веществ, которые выделяют скопления бактерий.
Выделение: две сократительные вакуоли (удаляют излишки воды с растворёнными солями)
Половой процесс, размножение: бесполое и половое размножение (половой процесс). Бесполое размножение — поперечное деление в активном состоянии.Половой процесс происходит в форме конъюгации.
Значение: очищают воду, служат пищей, образуют осадочные породы, симбиоз у жвачных, индикатор нефти
